Pakistan teenager 'kills eight family members'

(AFP) LAHORE, Pakistan — A teenager in central Pakistan shot dead his parents and six siblings Sunday because his father could not feed the family, police said. Mohammad Afzal, 19, is believed to have drugged his parents, two sisters, and four brothers, before tying them up and killing them, senior police officer Syed Mehmood Gilani told AFP by telephone. The dead siblings were aged between three and 16 years, Gilani added, saying that the victims "all died on the spot". The incident took place in Gujranwala district of Pakistan, some 80 kilometre's north of Pakistan's eastern city Lahore, the capital of central Punjab province. Police suspect that the victims were given sleeping drugs before being shot but are waiting for the autopsy report for confirmation. Afzal, who was the eldest of the children, initially told police that bandits had killed his family during a burglary but was arrested by officers after finding no signs of forced entry. iPhone App Video Review: Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation

The game is basically a rehash of the previous titles with a new campaign, a few new features, expanded multiplayer and a bit of polish. Like it's console counterpart, in this title, the world has devolved into another global war of sorts. The fallen nation of the title is America, in fact. Korea, Pakistan, and Russia have all banded together and formed the KPR, a group hell bent on invading and destroying America. As usual, the plot is generic, but only serves to establish big set pieces and battles, which is all it needs to do. There is a lot of variety in the environments across the 13 available missions, including the now seemingly mandatory AC-130 gunship level. The set pieces are bigger than ever, and the campaign reaches a new level of epic for this particular series. The gameplay ...

USA defeats Venezuela by 3-2 in Pan American Games - Volleyball match

The United States national men’s volleyball team beat the Venezuelans on Friday, October 28, in a volleyball match of the Pan American Games that is currently being played in the Mexican city of Guadalajara. Both the teams competed against each other to qualify for the fifth position in the tournament.  The match between the two sides went on for five long and gruelling sets at the end of which the Americans were able to earn a win at the following final set scores: 21-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-18 and 15-13. The first set of the match was competitive and both the teams were trying hard to gain some headway. However, as the frame drew to its final stages, the Venezuelans were able grab the lead and bag the set. The Americans were able to equalise the match by taking hold of the second set by a comfortable margin. The third set went to the Venezuelans as they worked long and hard for a win. The fourth set had the American name written on it from the start as the U.S. took the lead and s...
